CB Vietnamese Mossy Froglets (Theloderma Corticale) are active, reaching up to 2.5 inches in length.
They mimic wet moss, lichen, algae covered rocks. Native to Vietnam, they require a tall enclosure split evenly between water and land, with low UVB exposure.
All specimens are juveniles and unsexed.
Care Guide;
Vietnamese Mossy Frogs are semi-aquatic amphibians renowned for their remarkable moss-like camouflage. They require high-quality enclosures and specific environmental controls, making them better suited for intermediate to advanced keepers .
Enclosure Setup
- Size: At least a 20-gallon tall tank for a pair, but a 40-65-gallon tall paludarium is recommended if housing a group.
- Environment: They are semi-aquatic and require a setup with deep, clean water. Provide a mix of cork bark, driftwood, and live plants for climbing and hiding .
- Temperature: They are native to high-elevation caves in northern Vietnam. They require cooler environments and must be kept between 65°F and 74°F. High temperatures can be fatal .
Care Requirements
- Diet: As insectivores, froglets will eat appropriately sized fruit flies (such as D. hydei) . Adults will eat gut-loaded crickets, dubia roaches, and earthworms.
- Supplements: Feeder insects must be dusted regularly with calcium and vitamin D₃ .
- Water Quality: They spend much of the day in the water and need aged, non-chlorinated water .
- Temperament: They are nocturnal, very vocal, and have a lifespan of 10–12 years
