Ranitomeya summersi

Ranitomeya summersi, sometimes referred to as Summers' poison frog, is a species of poison dart frogs found in the central Huallaga River drainage and adjacent Cordillera Azul National Park in central Peru. These are one of the larger species of poison dart frogs. They have an orange and black banded pattern and a large snout to vent length. 

In the terrarium this frog is relatively hardy, but somewhat reclusive, and will benefit from layered foliage and abundant leaf litter. Summersi will thrive in slightly drier terrarium conditions than many other dendrobatids. Well suited for housing as small colonies as opposed to pairs, and excellent frog for intermediate keepers looking for a slightly more challenging species.
