Dendrobates tinctorius "Yellowback" has a striking contrast of black, yellow , white toes and sides and blue or teal piping up on some individuals elbows, knees and leg. They can be bolder and more arboreal than other Tics. Originally collected near Saul, French Guiana, these frogs inhabit the rainforest floors of Suriname and Brazil.
Coloration: Features a distinct "tuxedo" pattern with a solid black body and a vibrant yellow crown and back but pattern can very per frog.
- Size: This is one of the larger dart frog species; adult females average 2.5 inches (6.35 cm), while males are slightly smaller at approximately 2 inches (5.08 cm).
- Temperature: Maintain between 65°F and 75°F(18°C–24°C). Temperatures exceeding 85°F can be fatal.
- Humidity: High humidity of 70%–90% is essential, though adequate air circulation must be provided to prevent respiratory issues.
- Enclosure: A minimum of a 20-gallon aquarium or an 18x18x24 or 36x18x18 front-opening terrarium is recommended for 1–3 frogs
